Today I spent the whole day at the hospital in Haugesund on the mainland. 6:30 I took a ferry there. The finger turned out to be broken - a small piece at the top of the upper joint was loose and the nail and the flesh under it has been moved forward and to the side. There is a deep cut through almost half the finger from the outer side. The surgeon took away the piece of bone and moved the nail to it's normal position - not because there was any chance to save it, but to create a track for the new nail. No guarantee for this though, he said it can grew in any direction. If the surgery isn't successful the whole upper joint must be removed. I shall go back on Monday, then I hope to know when I can continue. Windfinder says ideal condition from Tuesday night. Question is if I am able to handle the ropes and winches, it hurts quite a bit after the surgery. I will take some painkiller for the night.
