Wednesday afternoon I was preparing for the North Sea crossing over to Shetland Thursday morning.
Destiny had other plans for me though. A little accident cut almost off the upper joint of my right pinky. The nail with half the flesh under it is cut off. And no emergency room to go to, Utsira is the smallest community in all of Norway with just a bit over 200 residents. Tomorrow there is a doctor coming here so I will try to get an appointment to hear what my options are. It will be too difficult to handle the ropes and the winches. It hurts and bleeds a lot when I use the hand. Now I have a small plastic bag around the bandage and it's a lot of blood in it.
Thursday and Friday looked very good for going the 200 miles over to Shetland, Now I have no idea when I can continue. I need a weather window of two full days to be safe. Luckily Utsira harbour doesn't charge visitors, but on the other hand there are no facilities. I will make an update as soon as I know something.
