I had to start from Rödbyhavn with a detour around a very big windmill park before I could round the southeastern tip of Falster and set a straight course toward Klintholm on the Island Mön (ö is pronounced like French eu in the Scandinavian and German languages). The sailed distance is about 60 miles if the wind allows you to keep a straight course, which luckily was the case today.

The wind was not strong enough to let me go for sail the whole distance, so also today I had to push a little with the iron genoa from time to time at low revs.

But as I have noticed before, the engine takes very little diesel in that way. From Helgoland to Klintholm I had used less than 40 liter, and that includes almost nine hours constant motoring through the Kiel canal.

Klintholm marina is very small harbour within a summer resort. Outside the resort there is also a fishing port, but there is no real town or even a village. But it is a convenient stop on the route between the south of Sweden and the Kiel canal if you want to make it on daysailing only. The island Mön has very beautiful nature and is well worth more than a short stop, but now I am in a hurry to reach Malmö, where I will stay for a week or so to see my daughters and a one year old grandchild. And hopefully be able to pick up my new gennaker, which I am very excited about.
