The capitainerie at the marina in Vannes was very helpful with helping me to find a mechanic today. It didn't took him long to find the problem - a cable crimp had come lose because of the engine vibrations and caused the diesel flow to stop. I didn't really understand the function of it, but he showed me the location and how to fix it, so next time I know how to do it myself. And he was not expensive either, 50 euros was the cost, even though he came from somewhere outside Vannes, and spent well over an hour on the boat. We examined the oil filters as well and found them ok. He also had a general look at the engine while I was running it, and was pleased what he saw and heard.

So it was like a stone fell from my heart, I feared it could be a lot more expensive. So time for celebration! Which I did in the very nice company of the crew of another boat named Atlantis (it's a quite common name), skippered by Graham Caulfield with his two daughters Lucy and Emma Jane as crew. We met already on the anchorage outside Île Lounge, and went together up to Vannes.

Graham has been sailing in these waters for 30 years, so he was a valuable source of information for me. Tomorrow they go further south, while I most likely stay another night in Vannes, before I go out in Golfe de Morbihan again.
