The 90 miles between Rödbyhavn and Falsterbo Kanal took me 18 hours and offered great sailing almost the whole distance. Only for an hour in the early evening I had to start the engine  when the wind became to weak even for the gennaker. Which I had up for five hours in the afternoon. When conditions is right the gennaker is a real gamechanger. When I hoisted it around noon there was another sailing boat far ahead of me but after an hour and a half I had caught up with him, and after another 90 minutes he was far behind. I guess he started thinking about getting a gennaker himself.

Falsterbo Kanal is a shortcut through a peninsula in the very south of Sweden, just a few hundred meters long and with no locks, just a bridge that opens every second hour in the daytime. It was after midnight when I arrived so I tied up at some dolphins used as waiting area.
