While waiting for the mechanic in Köpmanholmen I discovered that the charger didn't give any power to the start battery. The problem seemed to be a poorly insulated crimp joint on the cable. After I made a better joint, I tried to start the engine and now it worked without problem. Could the start battery problem depend on a short circuit on this cable? I still don't know, but since then the engine starts without problem and without the preheating relay getting hot. This was already on Thursday, but I had ordered spare parts from the Lombardini agent, and I had to wait for them until yesterday (Monday). I did some sightseeing on the bike and also helped the boat club with some carpenter work on their club house, which gave me 50 percent off on the mooring fee. Which was well needed since the spare parts turned out to be super expensive. Only the new relay cost more than 120 euros and I am not sure I even need to change it any more. I think I am done with original spare parts, even tough they say in the engine manual that it is very important.

Today Tuesday I took off again. My plan is to go 50ish miles up to the city Umeå where they have all kinds of boat service. If everything works so far I will make my mind up if I shall continue towards the end of the Bothnian Bay and go south on the Finnish side, or if I shall go the same way back as I came. There is still a lot of places I haven't seen yet. I have plenty of time for both alternatives.

I made it only to the little guest harbour Skagshamn today. I had the wind against me all day, and I don't want to use the engine if I don't have to, so as the birds fly it was not any long distance, but the wind was good and the sun was shining so all in all it was a nice day. It seems like the summer has come to stay for a while at least here up north, since Midsummer Eve it has been well over 20 degrees. The land weather forecast said 27 degrees, not that hot in the wind at sea but still enough for me.
